Hillside Work Scholarship Connection (HW-SC) is a nationally-recognized youth development program helping at-risk youth stay in school and graduate from high school with the skills and confidence necessary to enter college or the workforce. The College & Career Coordinator is responsible for the delivery and facilitation of all facets of academic, post-secondary planning and support, college, career, enrichment and/or employment programming and facilitation. This will be achieved through the development of regional plans to meet the goals of the program. The Coordinator will be actively involved in relationship building, supporting Youth Advocate (YA) implementation of programming and engaging external job partners, higher education and other creative sources to meet program services goals.


Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to:


·         Responsible for relationship management activities to enhance the reputation and success of the program. This role is responsible for leading and conducting employee training, leading projects and serving on committees as assigned and ensuring costs of programming are within parameters of the budget. This position may supervise others in the capacity of group leader. This person serves as the “right hand” to the operation leader.


  • Responsible for educating regional management on HW-SC policies, procedures and programs relating to these functions to ensure compliance to the model and to meet regional program goals. The Coordinator is able to coach management and provide recommendations to meet program goals.

  • Actively seeks to develop new while maintaining existing partner relationships: with employers and community associations to engage in opportunities for HW-SC students such as job shadowing, internships, career speakers and pre-apprentice trade opportunities; with high school guidance counselors and higher education institutions to maintain knowledge and service expertise for students.

  • Supports day-to-day oversight and actual implementation of career, post-secondary, academic and/or employment programming and facilitation within the region at the direction of management. Assists YAs and their students with the college application and financial aid process.

  • Provides services to HW-SC students in collaboration with and as identified by YAs and Team Supervisors. Monitors placement and progress of participating students in partnership with YAs and Team Supervisors. Provides support services for HW-SC students who are preparing for the transition from high school to military, trade school, employment, college.

  • Responsible for delivering Youth Employment Training (requires certification to be obtained within specified timeframe).

  • Ensures all costs are within program parameters in regards to the program budget.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. 5+ years of Relevant experience working with youth and their families. Must have intermediate technology skills.  Applicants must have a valid driver's license and must meet agency driving and insurance standards. Applicant must have reliable transportation on a daily basis.
