Essential functions:
*Identify and analyze new funding opportunities for fit with organizational mission, goals, and strategic priorities.
*Manage the proposal development process:
       o Interpret and ensure adherence to funder guidelines and Hillside Family of Agencies policies
       o Coordinate cross-disciplinary proposal development teams to facilitate grant project development for new and existing programs and/or services
       o Write proposal narratives, including needs assessments, project descriptions, program outcomes, etc.
       o Provide project management support for large, complex proposal submissions
       o Compile grant documents, review budgets, and edit application materials
*Act as a resource and subject matter expert with regard to external funding opportunities.
*Perform various administrative functions in support of grants development processes.
*Support database and data tracking duties.
*Other duties as assigned.

Required skills:
 *Must be able to demonstrate successful track record of grant research, preparation and submission to diverse funding sources (local, state, federal, private, and/or corporate).
 *Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of the grant development process.
 *Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 *Proficient in online research, Microsoft Office, Adobe; Raiser’s Edge experience a plus.
 *Strong critical thinking skills.
 *Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
 *Detail-oriented, adaptable, organized and demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks in a deadline driven environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, English or other related field, plus a minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience writing private foundation, federal and state grants in areas of human/social services and/or mental health.
